separate or same legal entity for very different operations?

Suppose a marketing/web design business and a small beer brewery are both founded/owned/managed by the same person. Does it make more sense for each operation to be under the same or separate legal entities? From my experience, the answer to this kind of question is usually “it depends”, and if this is so, I would be curious to know more. For whichever approach, what are considerations and challenges? My reason for asking is I have a few entrepreneurial ideas at square zero and am trying to learn a bit more before firing the gun. Thanks!
